The Unforgiven

“Maybe all one can do is hope to end up with the right regrets”, this quote has been crawling through my head all day, for some reason it makes me feel a bit sad, for the thought is frightening enough not to leave my head, I don’t know what the right regrets would be, but I definitely know the wrong ones, the ones that will keep you up all night wondering what if you acted differently! What if you told them you love them before they’re gone! What if you didn’t say those words that broke a heart!

Sometimes I think that fear is what protects us of the fatal regrets, it’s the unreasonable fear that makes us fight hard, the fear of losing the people we love is what pushes us to hold on to them so hard and never leave them alone, the fear of failure is what guide us to success.

But in other times we find ourselves enslaved by the fear and then it can only push us backwards, because the fear of tomorrow prevents us from trying, telling us that we’re safer in here, and as the fear is holding us safe inside, life passes us by like a stranger, leaves us behind with so many regrets, the wrongs ones, the ones you will never be able to forgive yourself for, the ones that will keep you up all night.

So remind yourself to let your fear motivates you instead of holding you back, let it inspire you not to pull you down, you won’t fail as long as you keep trying, and walking through a tough road is much easier than looking back with regrets, so let us open our eyes and step ahead, and hope to end up with the right regrets.
