The Usual Thoughts of a Saturday Morning

Do you happen to wake up on a Saturday morning at 8 A.M. for no reason? No work to go for, no plans for breakfast with anyone, no movie seems to be fun to watch at such a time, so you lay back in bed again and close your eyes, except that you just can’t sleep, and at that particular time, you either get yourself too depressed for having to think, or you find yourself getting too motivated for no logical reason, but if you ask me, I hope I end up with neither of the two, why? Well, because I happen to know how harmful the morning thoughts can be, especially if you felt tempted to do something but you had no clue what is it that you want, and that would dramatically lead you into the endless loop of who you are, what do you want, is this the life you have always planned for, and if it’s not why there is nothing you can do to fix that? Well, you can’t, you simply cannot build a life you know nothing about.

And don’t get me started on the extra dose of motivation you would usually feed yourself with on such a fleeting morning, all of a sudden, life seems to be on track again, and you are aware of all your early misfortunes,” I just need plan” you’ll probably be telling yourself, and you might suddenly feel so energetic, too excited to get out of bed, start your exercises, plan a healthy meal and the rest of the day will take of itself. Well, it’s just not that easy, because it will be more depressing going to bed the night after, having done nothing of your listed plan.

So the plan we’d probably need is to get out of bed at 6A.M when we are most tired and sleepy, share a tasty breakfast with family or a friend when we have no desire to eat or talk, and continue making plans when nothing in life seems to be treating us well, then maybe… just maybe, on another dull Saturday morning you wouldn’t have to worry about falling asleep within seconds, just like a baby, having no worries on planning your future or finding yourself, because as far as your concerns, each day will plan itself separately, then you can be able to focus on what you need to be doing just now, and by the way, always remember this saying: “Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don’t.”
